The Mamak Soup (sup mamak)

When u say mamak, most of the time u'll think of those roti canai, roti telur, roti naan, naan cheese, mee mamak. teh tarik, milo ais, teh ais and dadada.

but has anyone tried their mamak soup?
thick and rich.
you can taste the indian spices with just the first sip.
and also very oily. like, very. bad for your health, but good for your tastebuds once in awhile:)

shown above is the sup lidah (tongue soup). some may find it icky, some might actually like it. but my advice to all you adventurous food tasters, go for it. u'll like it.

the mamaks have a wide variety of soup on their menu: beef, mutton, tongue, vein..and some other stuff too. everytime i order a bowl, i'll order a plate of rice as well and walk out with a full tummy right after. some people order white bread to go with the soup as a dip. also yummy:)

So next time you go to a mamak, and bored of ordering the same ol roti, try ordering their soups ok!
These pictures are taken at Restoran Rashid, Ampang Point. but u can also find it in the menus of other mamaks like Lotus or Pelita around KL. price: RM6-RM8.
